Thailand has experienced a powerful surge in tourism, welcoming over 11 million international visitors and generating more than 540 billion baht in revenue during the first few months of 2025.
Thailand welcomed 11.27 million international tourists between January 1 and April 20.This surge in visitor numbers generated more than 540.6 billion baht in tourism revenue, marking a modest rise of A 0.52% growth compared to the same period last year, as reported by the Ministry of Tourism and Sports.

China, Malaysia, Russia, India, and South Korea emerged as the top five sources of international visitors to Thailand, with China taking the lead at 1.52 million arrivals, closely trailed by Malaysia with 1.4 million. Russia contributed 835,300 arrivals, while India and South Korea followed with 677,800 and 550,000 visitors, respectively.
In the most recent reporting week, from April 14 to April 20, Thailand experienced a temporary slowdown in arrivals. About 534,000 foreign tourists entered the country during this period, representing a decrease of 132,200 people, or roughly 19.85%, compared to the previous week. This dip was anticipated as a typical pattern following the conclusion of major holidays like Songkran and during school vacation periods. Daily average arrivals during this week were approximately 76,300 visitors.
Despite the short-term decline, the outlook for Thailand’s tourism remains highly optimistic. Industry analysts and officials forecast a strong rebound in the coming weeks, driven by a combination of strategic initiatives and favorable conditions.
The expansion of air travel capacity is playing a key role in driving the anticipated recovery.Thai Airways has added 33 new flights to its summer schedule, enhancing connectivity for international travelers. The designation of 2025 as the “Amazing Thailand Grand Tourism and Sports Year” is also expected to boost travel enthusiasm and spark promotional activities across the country.
A series of proactive tourism and sports promotion campaigns, combined with government support measures, are playing a critical role in sustaining Thailand’s appeal as a preferred destination.
